Education Program

Prampram Worldwide Education’s program in Ghana provides at-risk individuals with education, support and the opportunity to serve others.

EDUCATION

What does the Ghanaian Government provide?
Although Ghana proclaimed public primary education mandatory and free, there are various costs that make it impossible for many children to attend. The government in Ghana provides text books and pays for school fees; however, it doesn’t provide the numerous writing books required, last hour of school fees, testing fees, uniforms and further supplies.

What does Prampram Worldwide Education provide?
Prampram Worldwide Education is currently assisting primary, junior-secondary and college Ghanaian students with their educational needs such as uniforms, shoes, books, supplies, lunches, study fees and testing fees.

Beneficiaries monthly receive set funds for educational fees. Many additionally receive funding for school lunches. School attendance is monitored for senior secondary and lower levels to determine when distributed funds will carryover to the next school term. When appropriate and necessary, school uniforms and supplies are also provided.

Why does Prampram Worldwide Education pay for school lunches?
At lunch time, all the students join in the school courtyard to purchase lunch from food vendors. Ghanaian food does not transport easily nor do the people have the containers needed to keep their food from spoiling. Even with assistance, many children would still not attend school because their family is unable to pay for their lunch. If the child stays at home, they can eat what little the family may have. Therefore, no children bring food from home. It simply is not part of the culture.

SUPPORT

As primary education has only recently become mandatory, it is common for elders and adults to dismiss the importance of education. Some students lack support in the home. Prampram Worldwide Education aims to provide support and encouragement through good role models.

The Director or Assistant Director of Ghanaian Affairs connects monthly with each beneficiary. They check on the needs of the program’s recipients, support them in their educational goals, and solve issues that may arise.

LEARNING TO GIVE

While receiving educational support and funding, recipients pay it forward through community service. Each year, Prampram Worldwide Education’s Service Coordinator organizes three mandatory group service projects. All recipients of funding attend and participate in elevating their community. This teaches the students how to serve and provides them with a safe environment to do so.
