Service is one of the most rewarding things that people can do in their life, of which there are many different forms. People often want to get involved and feel a desire to be of help. But those same people at times will hesitate because they do not know how they can get involved in a good cause or be of help to someone in need.

Service can be anything from donating a few dollars to assisting in a foreign country; passing on a smile; building a house; helping your neighbor, or joining a cause; service comes in many different shapes and sizes. Whether it be time, talents, money or whatever else you feel able to do, Prampram Worldwide Education appreciates all forms of service.

Prampram believes there are more ways than just one to make a difference. Therefore, we have listed a few ways we feel are most helpful. Please, don’t waste today thinking you will do something to help those in need tomorrow. For tomorrow never comes and you don’t want to fill your past with empty todays. Live for something better, live for something more, and live to get involved.

Become a Volunteer

Within Prampram, there is a need for those that can dedicate their time. We are always looking for people to help in whatever way they can, whether it be that they dedicate a lot of time or maybe just a little. People of all ages, talents and backgrounds are welcome to join and be a part of something great.

Prampram offers a wide range of volunteer activities and events that can always use a helping hand. The following are some areas Prampram Worldwide Education needs assistance in:

• Fund Raising

• Web Development
• Attorney Consultations
• Finance Consultations
• Policies and Procedures
• Education Program Coordinator
• Special Projects
• Events
• Film Producer
• Accounting
• Program Development

Additionally, Prampram holds activities and fundraising events to raise awareness and fund the projects that are sponsored. These events and activities are great ways to volunteer some time. If you are unable to attend and help at something that Prampram puts on, we are also very willing to help plan and host a fundraiser or presentation in other locations to help spread awareness.

Those that volunteer are to be either 18 years of age or older, or have the written consent of a parent or guardian.

Prampram Worldwide Education travels to Ghana, West Africa, and helps the local people to gain an education. We welcome people who want to join on these trips and help in service projects, and meet those individuals we sponsor. The trips generally last from about one to two weeks and are accompanied by at least one member of the Board of Directors. Those that desire to serve abroad are asked to fund all of their own trip expenses.

A special connection and friendship is made when one is with those they are serving. It is a connection that crosses boundaries and borders and makes differences seem insignificant. Seeing the gratitude and joy in the face of those they serve is a site people never forget. This connection, this friendship, is not one that is made only with those that are being served, but also those who are doing the service.

Internships are great ways to gain valuable real-world experience and also enhance your educational experience. It seems that one of the challenges of going to school is seeing how what someone is learning applies to the real world. Internships do just that. Being able to take something learned and apply it to the world through internships not only helps the principle stick, but it also makes it a part of the individual them self.

Many colleges and schools are more than willing to help fund such an endeavor. ORCA grants and scholarships are readily available to students who desire to help throughout the world. In fact, many schools have offices dedicated to finding money to help students do service oriented internships. Outside of grants and scholarships, there are often many offices and business who are willing to help fund projects and humanitarian causes.

When someone has a great experience it is hard to keep it to oneself. People like to feel good, and they enjoy seeing others feel the same way. Service, like a smile, is addictive and contagious.
